The latest version of Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner is now 9.1. It includes some important engine updates, which allows splitting and joining bigger audio files. In particular, the new version fixes the "Out of memory" error that could be shown when working with huge MP3 and WAV files.
Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner contains two easy-to-use audio editing tools within the single interface.
The MP3 splitter module opens by default, it's what you see when you start Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner for the first time.
On the screenshot above we split a complete album saved as a single MP3 file (all tracks are within the same file). Luckily, we have a CUE file that describes the contents of our big MP3 file. We opened the CUE file, and the MP3 splitter has loaded all parts into its splitting list. Additionally, we can see title and other details of each part in the "ID3 tags" area. Those are provided by the CUE sheet, too.
While we could easily split the MP3 into the same tracks using its silence detection feature, this wouldn't provide track titles automatically. So, if you have a CUE sheet, it's really an advantage.
Now we can simply click the "Split" button on the toolbar. The big MP3 file will be cut into the pre-defined parts, and the individual tracks will be saved in the same folder ("Input folder" is selected in the lower part of the window).
Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner offers other ways to cut audio files as well. For example, you can click on the waveform to select parts - this is visual splitting. There are two different modes: one-click split and precise marking. The first mode is "rough and quick", the second one requires more clicks to select and add a part, but it allows selecting parts more accurately.
You can also enter time of each track into the corresponding fields on the "By time" tab in the "Splitting mode" area. Do not forget to click the "Add" button in the same area to add your selected part into the split list.
Additionally, you can cut your files by number of parts, size, etc.
Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner can cut MP3, WAV, APE, and WMA files. The latter two formats are converted to WAV for processing (with lossless formats, this does not affect quality). MP3 files are split directly, which preserves their original quality. The program can also use and create CUE sheets.
As its name suggests, Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner can also merge MP3 files (+ WAV, APE, WMA). To open the joiner module, click "MP3 / WAV Joiner" on the toolbar:
This will hide the waveform display and other elements of the MP3 splitter. Toolbar buttons will also be adjusted.
We have added a number of MP3 files for merging. In this particular example, we merge individual tracks into a one-file album - just the opposite of what we did in the MP3 splitter. However, MP3 joiner is more often used to merge files of audio books.
Important: as MP3 are merged directly, they need to have the same bitrate, sample rate and number of channels. Files with different parameters can be converted and joined as WAV.
To merge all files shown in the big white area, click the "Join" button on the toolbar:
All parts will be saved into the "joined.mp3" file, as specified in the "Output file" area at the bottom of the window.
The MP3 Joiner supports MP3, WAV, WMA, and APE.
If you need to cut out some part of an audio file and preserve the rest as a single file, you will need to use both MP3 splitter and MP3 joiner:
Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner never changes your source files, so you can experiment safely.
